Training ground for the best actors in Los Angeles
Acting Studio Los Angeles (ASLA) brings together the most experienced instructors with the newest innovations to fully prepare actors for the demands of today's acting profession.
- Meisner Technique - A complete acting approach: from the basic fundamentals of functioning to emotional preparation to characterization to scene analysis
- On-Camera - How to bring your relaxed presence through the camera lens and make the most of working on camera
- Improv - How to Improvise in a way that is true to your character, brings genuine, personal spontaneity to your performance and adds to the scene
Our integrated training strategy enables actors to develop these necessary skills to flourish in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of today's TV, film and Internet sets.
At the core of the craft, you must learn to act honestly from the heart and utilize yourself and your talent. You can achieve this through hard work and disciplined effort in the Meisner Technique. But acting On-Camera is different from acting on stage. ASLA specializes in preparing actors for careers in front of the camera. In the most efficient and effortless way, you will master the technical demands of the camera and you'll never be made self-conscious in the process. Making the camera an integral part of your training regimen means that our actors very quickly stand out from the competition as savvy on-camera professionals. Starting in January, students have the very special opportunity to learn Meisner Technique 101 from Mark Pellegrino. In February, students of all levels can take our On-Camera Intensive taught by Mr. Pellegrino.
While the principles of good acting are constant, the manner in which entertainment is developed is shifting. The advent of digital photography has enabled directors to experiment more and allowed actors to "play" with characters and circumstances in ways that weren't originally on the page. Consequently, improvisational skills have become increasingly important. For the past two years, we have searched for an Improv teacher who shares our belief that to best serve the story and entertain the most, an actor's performance must be grounded in honesty and filled with integrity. We have found our ideal partner in David Razowsky.
We are now interviewing prospective students for class sessions starting in January. To learn more, call 818.416.7993 or click here.
