On-Camera

Acting Studio LA currently uses two Canon XL2 digital cameras to record class performances. Widescreen monitors allow students to see how choices, connection, truthfulness and physicality are captured by the camera.

At Acting Studio Los Angeles, you work on-camera in many of our classes. We choose students based on their serious intention to work professionally in Film and Television. Our Meisner-based actor training program is fully integrated with our on-camera training program. Our instructors utilize the camera to help educate in our Meisner classes as well as our On-Camera intensives.

Since 2006, we have been successfully proving our theory that the most efficient way to prepare actors to excel on a film set is to put them through a step by step, beginning through advanced, Meisner-based program...on-camera.

Our success is based on two very important concepts:

1. Acting and Acting On-Camera are not treated as separate skill sets at Acting Studio Los Angeles
2. We work with the camera in a way that NEVER makes our actors suffer from self-consciousness

By including on-camera work in the actors training habits from Beginning level on up, our actors are ready to enter the profession fully prepared and they are comfortably in command of the tools they will be working with.
